Tushka Bergen

Tushka Bergen, a London-born Australian living in Los Angeles, began her acting career with considerable spunk at the age of nine in the modern opera Australia Fair, where she was directed to spit watermelon seeds into the audience. She later made her big screen debut as schoolgirl in the German feature film DON QUICHOTTE'S KINDER/DON QUIXOTE'S CHILDREN.

Bergen first endeared herself to American audiences as Robert Sean Leonard's love interest in Disney's SWING KIDS, and later caught the attention of audiences and critics alike with her pivotal role as Montserrat in Whit Stillman's BARCELONA. Following BARCELONA, Tushka returned to her native England to shoot Malcolm Clarke's VOICES, playing American chanteuse Lily Buxton opposite Jeremy Northam.

Bergen's performance as Freda in the mini-series ALWAYS AFTERNOON earned her a nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Mini-Series from the Australian Film Institute. She made her American television debut in the CBS telefilm MURDEROUS INTENT, portraying a young woman who discovers that her mother and her mother's lover are plotting to implicate her in a murder.

In 1998, to her immense delight, Bergen was chosen by Academy Award-winning director Michael Caccoyannis (ZORBA THE GREEK) to play Anya in his European production of Chekov's THE CHERRY ORCHARD, also starring Alan Bates, Charlotte Rampling and Katrin Cartlidge. Bergen can most recently be seen opposite Rita Wilson in the Lifetime telefilm, MAGGIE.
