Marlo Thomas
Thomas's big break came when Mike Nichols cast her in the London production of Neil Simon's Barefoot in the Park. She later captivated television audiences in the long-running series That Girl, which she also produced.
She reteamed with Mike Nichols on Broadway in Social Security and has also appeared in the Broadway production of Thieves directed by Charles Grodin and the Pulitzer Prize winning revival of The Shadow Box. She also starred in the National Tour of Six Degrees of Separation directed by Jerry Zaks.
Thomas's feature film credits include Deuce Bigelow: Male Gigolo, Tom DiCillio's The Real Blonde and In the Spirit.
Also on television Thomas created, produced and co-hosted the television specials Free To Be ... You and Me, which received both Emmy and Peabody Awards and was accompanied by both a best-selling children's book and a record.
Thomas made her first appearance on a sitcom since That Girl when she appeared as Rachel's (Jennifer Aniston) mother in the hit show Friends and received an Emmy nomination.
With her family, Ms. Thomas carries on her father Danny Thomas' life's work for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the institution he founded, which specializes in catastrophic diseases in children and spearheaded the conquest of childhood leukemia.
Ms. Thomas is a member of the Actor's Studio and lives in New York with her husband, Phil Donahue.
