Lindsay Crouse

Lindsay Crouse is an accomplished actress in film, television and stage. She received an Academy Award(r) nomination for her role in Places in the Heart, won the Theater World Award for Harold Pinter's The Homecoming on Broadway, won the Obie Award for David Mamet's Reunion and was nominated for an Emmy for her work on the Young People's Special Mothers and Daughters.

Some of Ms. Crouse's best known films include All the President's Men, Slapshot, The Verdict Daniel, Communion, Prince of the City, Desperate Hours, House of Games, The Arrival and Indian in the Cupboard. In addition to The Insider, she can be seen in the upcoming Miramax film The Impostor directed by Gary Fleder and starring in the independent feature Total Stranger.

In television, Ms. Crouse has guest starred on numerous series including Law & Order, ER, NYPD Blue and this season's very special season premier of Touched by an Angel about slavery in Sudan. She has recently been added to the cast of the WB's Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the role of Maggie Walsh and can be seen opposite Richard Thomas in the upcoming CBS movie Laura Ingalls Wilder: Beyond the Prairie. In other work for network television, she has starred opposite George C. Scott in the CBS series Traps, Diana Ross in the ABC movie Out of Darkness and with Brian Dennehy in CBS's Final Appeal. For HBO she appeared in Norma Jean and Marilyn, If These Walls Could Talk and for Showtime she took part in two improvisational films Parallel Lives and Chantilly Lace.

Ms. Crouse is a veteran of the New York stage and regional theater. She has worked at the Arena Stage in Washington, D.C., the Goodman in Chicago, the Yale Repertory Theate, and many others. For seven years she was a member of the Circle Repertory Company receiving raves for her portrayals of Viola in Twelfth Night with William H. Macy, and as Ophelia in Hamlet opposite William Hurt. In Los Angeles she is a member of the Matrix Theater Company, having been part of their acclaimed production of E.M. Cohen's The Tavern.
