Pete Postlethwaite collaborated with director Steven Spielberg on the blockbuster The Lost World: Jurassic Park. He was earlier nominated for an Academy Award for his portrayal of the unjustly imprisoned Giuseppe Conlon in Jim Sheridan's acclaimed drama In the Name of the Father.

He counts among his additional film credits Brassed Off, William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, James and the Giant Peach, The Usual Suspects, Waterland, Dragonheart, The Last of the Mohicans, Aliens3, Hamlet, To Kill a Priest and Distant Voices, Still Lives.

A former member of the Royal Shakespeare Company, Postlethwaite has performed in such plays as A Midsummer Night's Dream, Macbeth, King Lear, Henry V, Richard II, The Fair Maid of the West, The Duchess of Malfi and The Rise and Fall of Little Voice. He has also been seen in a number of British television shows, including Sin Bin, Sharpe's Rifles, Minder, Needle, They Never Slept, Tumbledown and Martin Chuzzlewit. This fall, he returned to the stage to star in Macbeth at the Old Vic in Bristol, England.
