Lee Tamahori
Lee Tamahori received worldwide critical acclaim for his feature film directorial debut, the powerful New Zealand drama Once Were Warriors. His first American feature was Mulholland Falls, starring Nick Nolte, Melanie Griffith, Chazz Palminteri and John Malkovich, followed by The Edge star ring Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin. He has also directed episodes of the critically acclaimed HBO series The Sopranos.
He began his career in his native New Zealand as a commercial artist and photograph er, before moving on to directing television com mercials for 10 years, winning international awards. He later directed series television in New Zealand before the provocative Once Were Warriors.
