Willard Carroll

With PLAYING BY HEART, Willard Carroll takes on his most ambitious project to date: a funny and poignant ensemble drama about the search for love in contemporary urban life. Carroll previously adapted Philippa Pearce's classic children's novel Tom's Midnight Garden for the screen and directed the feature starring Greta Scacchi, James Wilby and Joan Plowright. His other directing credits include The Runestone starring Peter Reigert, William Hickey and Alexander Gudonov, as well as the ABC-TV series Bone Chillers. A graduate of USC's School of Cinema and Television, Willard Carroll began his career in the story departments at ABC Motion Pictures, Orion and Zoetrope Studios.
