Biography #2

A Connecticut native, Lauren Ambrose attended various schools before graduating from the High School in the Community, a magnet school in New Haven. She also attended the Educational Center for the Arts and spent summers studying at the Tanglewood Music Center in Massachusetts where she focused on singing. In 1997, she made her feature film debut in the Frank Oz comedy In and Out playing Vickie Rayburn, a gifted student of Kevin Kline's sexually ambiguous English teacher.

More screen time came the following year with her turn as the quick-witted and reclusive Denise in the ensemble comedy, Can't Hardly Wait. Ambrose continued to prove a talented performer and engaging screen presence with starring roles in the independent films Swimming and Psycho Beach Party, which displayed not only her sense of humor, but her musical gifts as well.
