Born in Queens, New York, Lucia Micarelli was immersed in the arts by the age of three, diligently practicing dance, piano and violin. It didn't take long for Lucia Micarelli to discover her passion and greatest talent was the violin, which became her main focus. After moving to Hawaii at the age of five, Lucia Micarelli continued to refine her skills; just a year later, at six, Lucia made her debut as a soloist with the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra. Her popularity as a violinist on the rise, Lucia Micarelli began appearing on local TV shows and at prestigious events throughout the islands.
In 1994, Lucia Micarelli's family returned to New York City after she was accepted at the prestigious Julliard School of Music. Lucia Micarelli studied there for seven years, winning a dozen international competitions and performing extensively in concert halls throughout the U.S. In 2001, Lucia Micarelli began studying with renowned violinist Pinchas Zukerman. During this time Lucia Micarelli began to develop an interest in non-classical music, moonlighting with local jazz and rock bands. The following year Lucia Micarelli accepted an offer to tour with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra as featured violinist and concertmaster. In 2004, Lucia Micarelli received a call from Josh Groban inviting her to tour with him as guest soloist. Later that year Lucia Micarelli released her first album, Music from a Farther Room to glowing reviews. In 2007, Groban asked Lucia Micarelli to join him again on his Awake tour.
Having recently released her latest album, Interlude, Lucia Micarelli continues to perform all over the world, and has most recently been a featured soloist on tour with Chris Botti.
