Russ Pond

Russ Pond spent more than sixteen years in corporate America before eventually pursuing his passion of being a filmmaker. Pond produced several award-winning, short-films (TREASURE, THE LIGHT, GROWING UP) that garnered some success and accolades. Dallas-based filmmaker and University of Texas graduate, Russ Pond formed Top Pup Media, LLC in 1998, but it was not until 2006 that he started work on his first feature film. After receiving more than 450 script submissions, Top Pup Media selected FISSURE to be its first feature film. Upon reading the first 20 pages, Pond was immediately captivated with the unique story.

Once he successfully sold the film's foreign rights, Pond wanted to make sure he had control over how the film was marketed and promoted in the U.S. FISSURE's domestic DVD and Digital Rights were acquired by Dallas-based Indiginous Filmworks, LLC. Jointly, the parties agreed on a hybrid approach to the distribution model where they would integrate traditional marketing and PR with film screenings, combined with a unique online strategy using viral tools and social media networking.
