Melonie Diaz
Her breakout role was in Peter Sollett's Raising Victor Vargas, which was nominated for five Independent Spirit Awards. Ms. Diaz herself was subsequently an Independent Spirit Award nominee as Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Dito Montiel's A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints, in which she starred opposite Shia LaBeouf.
The native New Yorker's other film credits include Catherine Hardwicke's Lords of Dogtown; Tom DiCillo's Double Whammy; Alejandro Chomski's Feel the Noise; Jess Manafort's Remember the Daze; and Spencer Parsons' I'll Come Running, in which she starred opposite Jon Lange. She recently completed production on Humboldt Park, an ensemble family comedy directed by Alfredo De Villa and also starring Alfred Molina, Freddy Rodriguez, and John Leguizamo.
Ms. Diaz' off-Broadway and workshop appearances include Medea, at the Bullet Space; the Hip Hop Theater Festival, at P.S. 122; and the NYC Fringe Festival. She is also at work completing her degree in Film Production at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.
