Born and raised in Encino, California to a wholesale diamond dealer and a designer, Kagasoff, who is of Russian descent, is the middle of three children. While attending San Francisco State University, Kagasoff decided that what he really wanted to do was follow his dreams of being an actor. So, he headed back to Los Angeles and landed a lead role in the Whitmore-Lindley Theatre Center production of subUrbia, a play based on the film of the same name starring Parker Posey, Giovanni Ribisi and Steve Zahn. Kagasoff played alcoholic slacker, Tim, who struggled to find purpose in the inevitable ennui of suburban life.
