Biography #2 (for Day Break)

Ramon Rodriguez just may be a modern day Renaissance Man; just talking about his perpetual involvement in sports, music, dance and acting can make you exhausted. After graduating from New York University, Rodriguez has an accomplished career in acting, dancing, music and even hoops!

On television Rodriguez has appeared on The Wire, Rescue Me and Law & Order: Special Victim's Unit. On the big screen he will soon be seen in Pride and Glory, starring Edward Norton and Colin Farrell, Ira and Abby, Bella and Harlem Hostel. Other film credits include Dealbreaker, directed by Gwyneth Paltrow, Carlito's Way: Rise to Power, I'm Boricua, Just So You Know!, directed by Rosie Perez, and The Wannabe.

When not in front of the camera, Rodriguez can be found working with the Abakua Latin Dance Company - an internationally touring salsa dance company he's been a part of since 2001. He has performed with Abakua at Madison Square Garden in New York City, Puerto Rico, Chicago and Los Angeles, among other venues. Even when not dancing, Rodriguez is still on his feet -- on the basketball court. In 2001 he founded a basketball performance group called Project Playground, which has performed at numerous NBA and college half-time games, including for the Dallas Mavericks and New York Knicks, as well as for NCAA champion schools University of Florida, University of Connecticut and Tennessee. The group has also wowed audiences at festivals and corporate events worldwide.

To relax, Rodriguez enjoys playing the piano and congas, dining out and spending time with family. He currently resides in New York City.
