Gary Scott Thompson

Gary Scott Thompson is the creator and executive producer of NBC's hit sexy and stylized drama Las Vegas, which follows the elite surveillance team charged with maintaining the security of one of Sin City's largest resorts and casinos. Spending much of his childhood in American Samoa, Thompson first gained exposure to the world of entertainment as an actor, studying the craft from such notable actors as Powers Boothe. Eventually settling on writing, he received a master of fine arts degree from New York University and went to work as a playwright. Thompson's theater credits include Small Town Syndrome, Cowboy's Don't Cry and Private Hells.

Among his feature film credits are: The Fast and the Furious, starring Vin Diesel, 2 Fast 2 Furious, Hollow Man, with Kevin Bacon, and the cult classic, Spilt Second. Thompson is currently writing an animated feature Shangri-La as well as an untitled thriller, which he is also executive producing.

Thompson's latest screenplay is 88 Minutes, which he is also producing, stars Al Pacino. It begins shooting in October of this year.

Thompson resides in Los Angeles.
