Leo McCarey
Thomas Leo McCarey (October 3, 1898 - July 5, 1969) was a movie director, screenwriter and producer. Most well known for his work with Laurel and Hardy, it is claimed that he was responsible for the creation of the duo. During his lifetime he was involved in almost 200 movies and worked with many of the other comedy stars of the 1920s and 1930s.
He won an Oscar for directing on the 1937 screwball comedy The Awful Truth.
