Michelle Saram

Michelle Alicia Saram is a model-singer-actress from Singapore. She was born on December 12, 1974. Michelle's father is Indian and her mother is Chinese. Because of her acting careers in Hong Kong and Taiwan she created a Chinese name (last name derived from her mother's maiden name) for herself: Zheng Xue Er.

Michelle went to Katong Convent, Temasek Junior College (she was the top arts student of her year), and Nanyang Technological University where she received her degree of mass communication at the School of Communication Studies. She then went to work at as an intern at a magazine company where she was discovered as a model and then signed up with the agency Elite Models. Her first big break came in 1997 when Aaron Kwok picked her to be in his music video. Michelle then went on to star in the series Threshold of An Era with Louis Koo, and had major roles in the movies Bullets Over Summer (1999) and Skyline Cruisers (2000). In 2000 she released her first Mandarin solo album titled Upfront. In 2001 Michelle was sued by her Taiwanese management company for breach of contract. The case was settled and she was back at it in 2002, now with Artiste Networks (a subsidiary of Hype Records) as her managing agency. She starred in the serial drama Fantasy as a blind and talented singer. She then landed the role of Ye Sha in Meteor Garden II together with Taiwanese boy band F4.
