Forrest Smith

Forrest Smith is a former professional football player and high school English teacher. An All-Conference Wide Receiver for the Iowa State Cyclones, Smith was drafted by the Buffalo Bills and played for the Seattle Seahawks before being sidelined by a series of concussions.

The Waterloo, Iowa native returned to his high school alma mater to teach creative writing and coach football, basketball, and track for seven seasons. An accomplished motivational speaker, Smith ultimately resigned his teaching position and moved to Hollywood to pursue a career in acting, appearing in nearly 100 hours of primetime television roles and a two-year stint on the soap opera Santa Barbara.

He also appeared in a handful of feature films, most recently We Were Soldiers, where he met that film's star and producer, Mel Gibson, and hatched the idea for PAPARAZZI. The film is his first produced screenplay.

Smith's good friend and mentor Randall Wallace encouraged him to pursue a career in screenwriting.
