Michael Mayer

Michael Mayer most recently directed the Tony Award-winning hit musical, Thoroughly Modern Millie which is currently touring nationally. Thoroughly Modern Millie won six Tony Awards (the most of any show that season) including Best Musical; it also won five Drama Desk Awards including Best Musical, and Best Director. Mayer's other Broadway credits include Side Man (Drama Desk Award, Outer Critics Circle Award, Best Director), The Lion in Winter, the revival of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown and the Tony Award-winning revival of Arthur Miller's A View From The Bridge starring Anthony LaPaglia, Allison Janney and Brittany Murphy (Drama Desk Award and Outer Critic's Circle Award, Tony Award Nomination - Best Director).

He will direct a new Broadway production of Arthur Miller's drama After The Fall this summer for the Roundabout Theatre Company, starring Peter Krause and Carla Gugino. Mayer has been developing Spring Awakening, a new rock musical with music by Billboard chart-topper Duncan Sheik and lyrics by Steven Sater.

Off-Broadway directing credits include Keith Bunin's The Credeaux Canvas, John C. Russell's Stupid Kids, Peter Hedges' Baby Anger , Theresa Rebeck's View of the Dome and the New York premiere of Janusz Glowacki's Antigone . Other New York productions include Roundabout with Dawn Upshaw and a revised version of Christopher Durang's A History of the American Film.

Mayer also directed the critically acclaimed national tour of Tony Kushner's Angels in America.

Mayer makes his feature film directorial debut with A Home At The End Of The World.
