has appeared in many films by Ingmar Bergman
. Her international breakthrough came with her performance in SUMMER WITH MONIKA (1953). Other Bergman films in which she has had major parts are: SAWDUST AND TINSEL, A LESSON IN LOVE, SMILES OF A SUMMER NIGHT, THROUGH A GLASS DARKLY, ALL THESE WOMAN, CRIES AND WHISPERS and FANNY AND ALEXANDER.
