earned a BFA in Drama at New York University and also studied Shakespeare at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. While in school, he earned critical acclaim in the New York theater scene for his performances in Mojo at the Atlantic Theater Company; The Fastest Clock in the Universe at the New Group Theater and Saved for director Robert Woodruff. Last year, he worked with renowned director Sir Peter Hall in the title role of Troilus in Troilus and Cressida at Theatre for a New Audience.
Kern has appeared in several independent features, including Fox Searchlight's criminal-comedy hit Super Troopers, and supporting roles in IFC's XX/XY and Keno's Love the Hard Way. Next for Kern is a lead role in Lion Gate's Cabin Fever, opening in September.
Kern's television credits include guest-starring roles in ABC's Wonderland and in HBO's hit series Sex and the City.
