Lee Unkrich

Lee Unkrich continues to play a major role in creating and shaping the Pixar animated features with his contribution to Finding Nemo. John Lasseter calls him 'one of the greatest talents to ever work in the medium. He's so amazing with his staging, cutting and camera direction, and his knowledge of the dynamics of filmmaking. We've all learned so much from Lee and he's elevated our films to a new level. The art of cinema at Pixar owes a great debt of gratitude to him.'

Unkrich made his feature co-directing debut on the Golden Globe-winning 1999 Disney/Pixar film, Toy Story 2, and went on to co-direct Monsters, Inc. Prior to those films, he collaborated with Lasseter in his role as film editor on Toy Story and A Bug's Life.

Before joining Pixar in 1994, Unkrich worked for several years in television as an editor and director. He graduated from University of Southern California's prestigious film school in 1991, where he created several award-winning short films. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Unkrich spent his youth acting at the Cleveland Playhouse.

The versatile filmmaker and his wife have two children. He is currently reteamed with Lasseter as co-director on the 2005 Disney/Pixar release,Cars.
