Ulrich Thomsen

Ulrich Thomsen has worked with many acclaimed European directors and is one of Europe's most sought after actors, starring in over 25 international productions. He was introduced to worldwide audiences in his leading role as a member of Denmark's most dysfunctional family in Thomas Vinterberg's Festen (The Celebration), for which he received his first Best European Actor nomination at the European Film Academy Awards. The film won the Cannes Jury Prize among many others and became an arthouse hit, cementing the impact of the Dogma era in contemporary cinema.

Last year, Thomsen starred in two features in competition at the Sundance Film Festival, Allegro and Adam's Apples. He has consistently garnered critical cclaim in numerous European films, including, The Greatest Heroes, The Inheritance and Brothers. He won a Best Actor award from the Danish Film Academy, as well as several other international awards, for his work in Greatest Heroes, Adam's Apples and The Inheritance. For his performance in Brothers, he received his second Best European Actor nomination and won the prestigious Best Actor award at the San Sebastian Film Festival.

Thomsen's international feature films include The World is Not Enough, The Weight of Water, Max, Killing Me Softly and Kingdom of Heaven.

On television, Thomsen guest starred on the hit series Alias and in the BBC miniseries, The Virgin Queen. He co-starred in the mini-series The Company.
