Jouko Ahola

Twice winner of the title World's Strongest Man, Jouko Ahola came to acting via a remarkable route.

Born in 1970 in Finland, Jouko was 15 when he first started to play with weights. Within 6 years he was competing in strongman competitions. After 10 years training he won the strongest man in Europe competition, the next year, the Scandinavian strongest man competition and the year after that, the strongest man in Finland.

It was out of this last competition that in 1997 he was invited to Las Vegas to compete for the title, The World's Strongest Man. After 8 days of tough competition he won the title. He defended the title in 1998 and lost narrowly despite having won almost every other strongman competition of that year. The following year the contest moved to Malta and Jouko competed again and won the title for an impressive second time.

In the years he was competing Jouko won and held more world records than any other strongman before him including ones for car-carrying, stone lifting, Hercules holding and the heaviest Atlas Stone.

After years of competitions Jouko decided that he wanted a different challenge and has since been seen in many commercials and TV shows. Invincible is his first feature acting role. He started shooting the film while he was the incumbent title holder of The World's Strongest Man.
