Biography #2 (for The Tale of Despereaux)

The Tale of Despereaux is young Emma Watson's first animated film.

Watson is best known for playing the role of Hermione Granger in Warner Bros.' phenomenally successful Harry Potter films. She began filming at age 10 and has starred in all five films with the sixth film, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, due to be released in July 2009.

Playing the role of Hermione has won Watson a huge fan base, worldwide critical acclaim and the prestigious AOL Moviegoer Award, for two years running, for Best Supporting Actress for Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and for Best Supporting Actress: Moviefone Moviegoer Award for Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Watson was also voted Child Performer of the Year for her role in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by readers of Total Film magazine and, along with co-stars Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint, was honored with an Outstanding Contribution to British Cinema Award by Empire magazine.

In 2007, Watson starred in Ballet Shoes in which she played Pauline Fossil, one of three orphan girls determined to follow their individual dreams. The BBC drama also costarred Victoria Wood, Emilia Fox, Richard Griffiths, Yasmin Paige and Lucy Boynton, who played Watson's onscreen sisters Petrova and Posy Fossil.

Watson's education continues to be of great importance to her. She took 10 General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) exams (A* and A grades) and four A-grade A-levels, and is currently taking a gap year before continuing her studies at university.

In her spare time, Watson is a keen sportswoman, particularly enjoying hockey, netball and tennis, and is a passionate artist. Watson's other great loves including singing and dancing, and one of her long-standing ambitions is to star in a musical, whether it is on stage or on screen.

Biography #3 (for The Proposition)

Emily Watson was nominated for an Academy Award in 1997 for her role in Lars Von Trier's Breaking The Waves. She won the Felix Award as Best Actress and the New York Critics Circle Best Actress Award, as well as the London Film Critics Circle Award as British Newcomer of the Year.

She was also nominated for both an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award for her role in Hilary And Jackie. Other film credits include The Life And Death Of Peter Sellers; Gosford Park; Alan Parker's Angela's Ashes; Red Dragon; The Cradle Will Rock; The Boxer; A Walk Through The Woods and Richard E. Grant's Wah Wah.

Television credits include George Miller's Mill On The Floss for BBC Television and Christopher Morahan's A Summer Day's Dream, also for the BBC.

Theatre credits include Twelfth Night and Uncle Vanya directed by Sam Mendes at the Donmar; The Three Sisters, directed by Max Stafford-Clark that toured India; The Children's Hour at the National and A Jovial Crew; Taming Of The Shrew; All's Well That Ends Well and The Changeling, all for the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Biography #4 (for Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban)

Fourteen year old Emma Watson reprises her superb portrayal of the bookish, but kind hearted Hermione Granger.

Playing Hermione in the first film saw Emma's debut into the world of professional acting, although her natural ability has been evident since an early age with highly praised performances in several school productions.

Her brilliant performance in the role of Hermione has won Emma a huge following throughout the world and the highly prestigious AOL award for Best Supporting Actress for Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

Emma continues to balance her love of filming with her studies and school activities and is a keen hockey, netball, tennis and rounders player as well as a budding athlete. She is also an art scholar and boasts the most colorful and creative dressing room at the studio!

Biography #5 (for Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets)

12 year-old Emma Watson made her superb debut into the world of professional acting in Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, although her natural ability has been evident since an early age with highly praised performances in several school productions.

Emma lived in France until age five, and then moved to England. At age seven, she won first prize in her year for a poetry recital in the school's Daisy Pratt Poetry competition.

She went on to co-star as Morgan La Fay in the school's production of Arthur: The Young Years and then took one of lead roles in The Happy Prince.

Emma is an avid hockey player, recently receiving her colors for the school team. She also enjoys rounders and netball, and likes to take part in all kinds of school activities including athletics and sculling.
