Kim Dawson

Kim Dawson is a 25 year veteran of the film and television industry based in Orlando, Florida. He has owned and operated SkyDog Productions as an independent production company in Orlando since 1988, first at Disney/MGM Studios and then at Universal Studios Florida. SkyDog provides complete production services and consultation, as well as product development, joint ventures and co-productions. Dawson is both line and creative producer with a strong business managerial background, narrative experience and marketing expertise.

Dawson is currently developing two television series, The Endangerbles and Great American Drivers Search (GADS), along with the feature film Matt Merlin. For Trans Continental Television Productions and joint venture partner MTV Productions, Dawson serves as coordinating producer on the ABC/MTV series Making the Band, which just completed its third season.

Previously, with Gary Propper Entertainment, he produced Carrot Top Live as a cable TV special, as well as for the burgeoning DVD market. He served as executive in charge of production for Trans Continental Pictures' direct to video feature Longshot, as well as Camp Tanglefoot, a one-hour pilot for a family series.

With partner, Gary Propper, Dawson produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles I, II and III for Golden Harvest Films and New Line Cinema. The films are the most successful independent film series to ever hit the big screen.

Dawson was executive producer on a series of videos for Walt Disney World including A Day at the Magic Kingdom, A Day at EPCOT Center, and The Magic of Christmas at Walt Disney World. He oversaw the production of the motion picture Tarzan the Epic Adventures for STI Entertainment in association with Keller-Siegel Entertainment. With former Saturday Night Live producer, Michael Wilson, he produced 65episodes of the late-night television comedy hit, The Newz which was distributed by Columbia Pictures Television.

Prior to relocating to Orlando, Dawson was an independent producer in Los Angeles. Here he produced a series of specials and home videos with the comedian Gallagher, served as director of original programming for Showtime Networks comedy, drama and music specials, and oversaw the production, from writing through post, on The Paper Chase.
