Malik Yoba is a familiar face on screen and television and won the NAACP's 1996 Image Award for Outstanding Actor. His feature film credits include the hit Jamaican bobsled team comedy Cool Runnings with John Candy, and the acclaimed Copland with Robert DeNiro and Sylvester Stallone. He also starred in the independent feature A Woman Like That.

Yoba is perhaps best recognized as the charismatic and caring Harlem detective on Fox's hit show, New York Undercover. His other television credits include Law & Order and Where I Live.

A native New Yorker, he was cited by The New York Times Magazine in 1996 as one of thirty promising artists under the age of thirty. Among his other awards are the McDonald's National Black History Markers of Tomorrow, the National Conference of Black Mayors and Hale House. In addition to his successes in acting and youth activism, Yoba also recently opened the Soul Cafe, a restaurant in midtown Manhattan.
