Troy Winbush

Troy Winbush portrays Frank Powell, a medical inspector in a group of highly skilled specialists for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in NBC's Medical Investigation.

Born and raised in New York City, Winbush is most recently known for his portrayal of Steve Smith in the 2002 feature film John Q, opposite Denzel Washington and for his role in the 2004 independent film, The United States of Leland. He recently completed production on the feature film The Last Shot starring opposite Matthew Broderick and Alec Baldwin. Winbush is no stranger to television, having had a recurring role on The Cosby Show and more recently Soul Food and CSI: Miami.

Trained at the Actors Institute, Herbert Berghof Studio and the Weist-Barron School of Television in New York, Winbush's stage credits include Lee Richardson's Joe Turner's Come and Gone and The Gang on the Roof.

Winbush currently lives in Los Angeles where he enjoys riding his motorcycle. His birthday is March 13.
