Biography #2 (for The Forgotten)

Dominic West has been seen on the big screen most recently in the feature Mona Lisa Smile opposite Julia Roberts and directed by Mike Newell. He played Fred Casely, the murdered lover of Roxie Hart in the Oscar-winning film Chicago. The native of Sheffield, England also stars in the widely praised HBO original series The Wire as homicide detective Jimmy McNulty. His feature film credits include 28 Days opposite Sandra Bullock and directed by Betty Thomas, Rock Star opposite Mark Wahlberg and Jennifer Aniston and directed by Stephen Herek, Surviving Picasso with Sir Anthony Hopkins and directed by James Ivory, A Midsummer Night's Dream with Kevin Kline and Michelle Pfeiffer, directed by Michael Hoffman and Diana and Me with Toni Collette, directed by David Parker. West made his motion picture debut in 1992 in Richard III opposite Ian McKellan and directed by Richard Loncraine.

West's passion for the theatre inspired him to return to the stage in 2001 to star in the hit Broadway revival of Nöel Coward's Design for Living opposite Alan Cumming.

English born, Dominic West has a wide-range of talents which have helped to propel him into both the American film and television industries. West can currently be seen on television portraying Detective Jimmy McNulty in the critically acclaimed HBO series, The Wire. He will soon be seen starring opposite Julia Roberts in Mike Newell's Mona Lisa's Smile to be released late next year by Sony Pictures. Since his motion picture debut in 1992's Richard III with Ian McKellen, Dominic has starred opposite some of the industry's finest actors, including Sir Anthony Hopkins in Surviving Picasso, Michelle Pfeiffer and Kevin Kline in William Shakespeare's A Midsummer's Night's Dream and Toni Collette in Diana and Me. More recently, Dominic could be seen starring with Mark Wahlberg and Jennifer Aniston in Warner Brothers' Rockstar and opposite Sandra Bullock in Betty Thomas's 28 Days. West's passion for the classic's inspired him to return to the stage in 2001 starring in Noel Coward's Broadway play, A Design for Living with Alan Cummings.
