D.J. Pooh

With a multi-platinum production roster and noteworthy feature film and video credits, Mark Jordan, p.k.a. D.J. Pooh, truly exemplifies today's renaissance man. His latest project Bad Newz Travels Fast (Da Bomb/Big Beat/Atlantic Records) boasts hit tracks by D.J. Pooh and the lyrical superstardom of Kam, Mr. Grimm, Threat, Tha LA Zuu, LBC Crew, The Low Life's and more.

As a teenager in the 80's, Pooh started his voyage into the music industry making his debut as a producer on L.L. Cool J's Bigger & Deffer L.P. with the much-loved classic, Goin' Back to Cali. After touring with L.L., Pooh returned to the West where he hooked up with King Tee, one of L.A.'s first rap artists. The music didn't stop there as Pooh went on to produce countless hits for others at the Street Knowledge camp, while also acting in several of Cube's videos. Already on fire,

Pooh charged ahead with full steam and formed his own label Da Bomb Records. In addition to commercially released records, Pooh has also produced and composed songs used for the score in the Motion Picture Boyz in The Hood. With big screen credit under his belt, he proceeded to tackle acting and screenwriting. He co-wrote, with Ice Cube, the classic hit movie Friday. Pooh also garnered an associate producer credit for the film as well as making his acting debut in the role of Redd. The movie caught the eyes of major film companies and put Pooh in a position to land a major picture deal.

In the midst of all that was happening in his career, Pooh managed to find time to build his own digital 48 track studio and video editing facility in Los Angeles where he continues to crank out hits by the dozen. In mid '95, he stormed the charts with production on The Dogg Pound's Dogg Food LP, giving them hits like Smooth and the hit single New York, New York. (His production company, D.J. Pooh Productions, Inc. produced the video.) Immediately following its release, he worked on 2 Pac's LP, All Eyes On Me, and signed on as the key producer of Snoop Doggy Dogg's LP Tha Doggfather. He co-produced and mixed the album, including the first hit single, Snoop's Upside Ya Head, which he also shot the video for.

His debut L.P. Bad Newz Ttravels Fast is a culmination of many years marked by success and extrordinary relationship building by someone, known coast to coast and worldwide, who has been in the game for a long time.Bad Newz Ttravels Fast, a compilation of some of hip-hop's finest, is slated for a July 8th release.
