William Russ

Born into a U.S. Navy family in Portsmouth, Virginia, veteran television actor William Russ spent most of his childhood moving around the country until eventually settling down long enough to study drama at the University of Michigan. After graduation, he furthered his drama studies when he attended New York's Neighborhood Playhouse. Russ appeared on Broadway with Al Pacino in The Basic Training of Pavlo Hummel. Other New York stage appearances include Buried Child and Visions of Kerouac.

Russ is best known for his various regular series television roles in Wiseguy, Capital News, the daytime drama Another World, the family series Boy Meets World, and most recently, Mister Sterling. He has appeared in numerous television movies, most notably the miniseries The Long Hot Summer. His many notable guest-star appearances include St. Elsewhere, The Young Riders, Touched by an Angel, Ally McBeal, Crossing Jordan and Brotherhood of Poland, NH.

On the big screen, Russ most recently starred alongside Edward Norton in the controversial drama American History X. He has also appeared in the feature films Life as a House, Aspen Extreme, The Right Stuff and the award-winning Pastime.

Russ is married to actress Clare Wren. They have a daughter and a son.
