Verne Troyer

Verne J. Troyer is best known for his role as ‘Mini-Me,' ‘Dr. Evil's' smaller and more concentrated pure evil protegé, in the Summer 1999 hit comedy Austin Powers 2: The Spy Who Shagged Me.

Troyer, who was born on January 1st, 1969 in Sturgis, Michigan, had always dreamed growing up and getting into showbiz. Soon after his high school graduation in 1987, Verne moved with some friends to Arlington, Texas where in 1993 he worked as a stunt double for a 9 month old child on a film called Baby's Day Out. Over the next few years Verne made several film and television appearances as an actor and stuntman, often portraying animals or small children.

1999 proved to be a benchmark year for Troyer, with the release of the Austin Powers sequel, The Spy Who Shagged Me. starring Mike Myers as Dr. Evil.

Most recently Verne has been working on the set of this fall's expected blockbuster, Harry Potter and the Scorcer's Stone, playing the Hogwart's School of Magic resident ghoul. Last year he appeared in the Dr. Seuss classic How the Grinch Stole Christmas, starring Jim Carrey.

Troyer's work on television ranges from starring roles as Emperor Napoléon Bonaparte in USA's series, Jack of All Trades, to the UPN comedy, Shasta McNasty and UPN's sci-fi Freedom.

Currently Verne resides in Arlington, Texas.
