Other film credits include American Gun, with Marcia Gay Harden and Forest Whitaker; The Sisters, with Elizabeth Banks and Maria Bello; Abandon, with Katie Holmes; Joshua, with F. Murray Abraham; and An American Rhapsody, in which he co-starred with Scarlett Johansson. In the animated film Tarzan, he was the voice of the title character, and in Pocahontas: The Legend, he played Sir Edwin Wingfield.
His numerous episodic television credits include guest appearances on such shows as Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Dexter, The L Word, Without a Trace, Frasier, Tales From the Crypt and Murphy Brown. Goldwyn portrayed astronaut Neil Armstrong in the television miniseries From the Earth to the Moon and played presidential aide Clark Clifford in Truman. Other TV movie credits include A Woman of Independent Means, Doomsday Gun, Vault of Horror, Love Matters, Taking the Heat and The Song of the Lark.
Besides a thriving acting career, Goldwyn is very much in demand as a director in both film and television. In 2006, he directed The Last Kiss, starring Zach Braff, Casey Affleck and Rachel Bilson. He also directed the acclaimed A Walk on the Moon, starring Viggo Mortensen, Diane Lane and Liev Schreiber, which won special recognition for excellence in filmmaking from the National Board of Review.
Some popular television programs that Goldwyn has directed include Dirty Sexy Money, Dexter, The L Word,Without a Trace, Grey's Anatomy, Law & Order and Private Practice.
Goldwyn is currently directing the film Betty Anne Waters, starring Hilary Swank.
