Biography #2Judy Davis graduated from the National Institute of Dramatic Art in 1977. Ms. Davis recently received a 1996 Australian Film Industry Award as Best Actress in Children of the Revolution. In 1992. she was nominated for an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress in Woody Allen's Husbands and Wives and was nominated as Best Actress in 1984 for her performance in David Lean's A Passage to India.
Ms. Davis first received international acclaim in 1978 in My Brilliant Career. Other films include Absolute Power, Blood and Wine, The Ref, Naked Lunch, Barton Fink, and Impromptu. Ms. Davis most recently worked with Allen on last year's acclaimed Deconstructing Harry and has most recently completed Thunderwith for Gilham Road Productions. Her television credits include "Serving in Silence - The Margarethe Cammermeyer Story," for which she was nominated for an Emmy and a Golden Globe, The Burning Piano,
A Woman Called Golda, and the recently completed A Cooler Climate in which she stars with Sally Field under the direction of Susan Seidelman.
