Dedee Pfeiffer
All first-generation actors, Pfeiffer and her sisters, Michelle and Lori, grew up in Orange County, Calif. Propelled by a drive to be independent, throughout her teen years Dedee held a series of odd jobs, including bagging groceries, delivering radiators, bussing tables, arranging flowers, and dancing in the Disneyland Parade. She soon discovered acting was a life's work that would continuously challenge her.
Her first professional acting role brought an added bonus: union membership. Filmmaker John Landis opened the doors to the Screen Actors Guild by casting her as a $10 hooker in the feature film Into the Night, starring her sister Michelle.
Subsequently, Pfeiffer gained attention in the feature film Falling Down as a fast-food cashier who stubbornly refused Michael Douglas' character breakfast one minute past the hour. Her additional movie credits include Gregory Nava's Mi Familia; Vamp with Grace Jones; The Allnighter with Susanna Hoffs; and starring roles in the independent films The Sky is Falling, and Radical Jack with Billy Ray Cyrus.
On the small screen, Pfeiffer was recently seen in the VH-1 biography Meat Loaf: To Hell and Back portraying his wife. She also starred as Cybill's (Cybill Shepherd) ultra-conservative, unhappily wed daughter Rachel on Cybill for four seasons. She has made high-profile guest-starring appearances on such series as Ellen, Seinfeld, Dream On and Wings, and co-starred in the television movie Tough Love with Lee Remick, Bruce Dern, Piper Laurie and Jason Patric.
