Biography #2 (for Twist)

Stephen McHattie alternates between leads on stage, supporting roles in films, and character parts. A familiar face on TV series, the Canadian-born actor began his career on the stage in the Broadway production of The American Dream. He made his TV debut in the series Benjamin Franklin, and followed that with a portrayal of the iconic movie star James Dean in the 1976 NBC biopic. He was also well cast as the grown-up son of the Devil in the small screen sequel What Ever Happened to Rosemary's Baby? and as a French-Canadian trapper in the NBC miniseries Centennial. He was also a regular on the Gemini-favourite television series, Cold Squad, and Emily of New Moon. Additionally McHattie has had guest roles on The X-Files and Seinfeld. It was in Bruce McDonald's live-to-air TV drama American Whiskey Bar that he earned a Gemini Best Actor nomination. McHattie's feature film credits include the multi-award winning romance Secretary, the drama The Highwayman, the lowball comedy, BASEketball, the internationally acclaimed family drama, The Climb, co-starring John Hurt, Beverly Hills Cop III, and the Berlin Festival winner, My Friend Joe.
