Linda Hamilton

Linda Hamilton has had the pleasure of a career allowing her to work both within the mediums of film and television. Beginning her work on the stage in community theatre back in her hometown of Salisbury, Maryland, Hamilton moved to New York in 1976 where she studied with Susan Cohen of Lee Strasbergs Institute, continuing to learn her craft via stage productions over the next three years.

When she moved to Los Angeles in 1979, the actress signed with an agent and began working within a few months of her arrival. Hamiltons earlier television credits include: Secrets Of Midland Heights and Kings Crossing. Soon recognized for her abilities to meet the demands of often very poignant and dramatic issues, she completed work in numerous made-for-television films including: Reunion, Rape and Marriage: The Rideout Case, Country Gold, Secrets Of A Mother and Daughter, Secret Weapon, Club Med and Go Towards The Light. Perhaps best known to television audiences for her work on the highly acclaimed CBS series, Beauty and The Beast, Hamilton received an Emmy Award nomination, among others, during the shows two-and-a-half year run, co-starring Ron Perlman. Her most recent television work was an original USA Network movie entitled: A Mothers Prayer. Winning the Cable Ace Award for her performance, which also resulted in a Golden Globe nomination, Hamilton portrayed the incredibly tragic scenario of a mother stricken with AIDS, who must leave her family behind.

Making her feature film debut in New Worlds Tag, Hamilton went on to star in The Stone Boy, Stephen Kings Children Of The Corn, Black Moon Rising and King Kong Lives. In 1984 the actress co-starred with Arnold Schwarzenegger in James Camerons The Terminator. Set against the backdrop of a future apocalyptic world, the film was instrumental to the careers of both leading actors.

Following The Terminator, Hamilton joined James Belushi and Michael Caine in Mr. Destiny for Disney. Several years following the original release, Cameron reassembled his cast to film Terminator 2: Judgment Day, proving an enormous critical and commercial success. Other film credits include Silent Fall, co-starring Richard Dreyfuss and directed by Bruce Beresford. Before joining the cast of Dantes Peak, Hamilton completed a starring role opposite Charlie Sheen in The Shadow Conspiracy.
