Academy Award nominee Edward James Olmos has achieved distinction in his work on stage, in film and on television. He first came to audience attention with his Tony Award-nominated performance in Zoot Suit, which he later re-created on film. Olmos' other film credits include an Oscar-nominated performance in Stand and Deliver (which he also produced), as well as roles in Warner Bros. Pictures' Selena, American Me (which he also directed), My Family/Mi Familia, Wolfen, Ridley Scott's classic Blade Runner, The Ballad of Gregorio Cortez, Saving Grace, Triumph of the Spirit, Talent for the Game, Mirage, Caught and The Wonderful Ice Cream Suit.

For television, Olmos received an Emmy Award for his role as Lt. Martin Castillo in the hit series Miami Vice. His other credits on the small screen include the acclaimed telefilm Twelve Angry Men and the miniseries Dead Man's Walk. For his work in HBO's The Burning Season, Olmos received a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy nomination. Olmos also starred in the CBS miniseries Menendez: A Murder in Beverly Hills, Showtime's Slave of Dreams and Roosters, an American Playhouse production. He was also honored with numerous humanitarian awards for his role as executive producer of the documentary Lives in Hazard.
