Biography #2 (for Threshold)

Carla Gugino's television credits include the title role in the series Karen Sisco. She has also appeared in the series Chicago Hope, on CBS and Spin City. She has starred in many television movies, including the CBS Hallmark Hall of Fame presentation A Season for Miracles, A Private Matter, The Motorcycle Gang and She Creature, and the mini-series The Buccaneers.

Gugino's feature film credits include all three Spy Kids movies, The Singing Detective, The Center of the World, The One, The Jimmy Club and Sin City. Her additional film credits include Snake Eyes, The War at Home, Michael, Miami Rhapsody, This Boy's Life, Son in Law, Lovelife and Troop Beverly Hills. She served as a producer and starred in the independent film Judas Kiss.

Gugino made her Broadway debut in 2004 in the Roundabout Theater's revival of Arthur Miller's After the Fall, for which she received an Outer Critics' Circle Award nomination and a Theater World Award for Outstanding Broadway Debut.

She will next appear in Jump Shot and will soon begin work on Rise, a thriller starring Lucy Liu.

Gugino was born in Sarasota, Florida, and raised in California. She lives in Los Angeles.

Biography #3 (for Spy Kids 2)

Hollywood has certainly witnessed a meteoric rise from the young and talented actress, Carla Gugino. Her most recent work includes performances in some very different films. The first was Robert Rodriguez's blockbuster hit Spy Kids opposite Antonio Banderas, followed by the art house film, The Center of the World. Carla also appeared in The One, opposite Jet Li, and Sebastian Gutierrez's Creature Feature Part 1: She Creature as well as The Jimmy Club opposite Frank Whaley and Ethan Hawke.

Carla recently completed work opposite Robert Downey Jr., Robin Wright and Jeremy Northam in The Singing Detective, to be released next year. She has acted opposite Academy Award winner Nicolas Cage in Snake Eyes and served as a producer and starred in the independent film, Judas Kiss opposite another Academy Award winner, Emma Thompson. She also starred in The War at Home with Martin Sheen, Kathy Bates and Emilio Estevez and Michael with John Travolta and William Hurt.

Gugino's television credits include roles on Spin City, Chicago Hope, and the TV movie A Season for Miracles. She received rave reviews for her performance in the BBC/PBS mini-series The Buccaneers.

Gugino's additional film credits include Miami Rhapsody, opposite Sarah Jessica Parker and This Boy's Life with Robert DeNiro and Leonardo DiCaprio.. Additionally, she has appeared in the films Jaded, Lovelife, A Private Matter, The Motorcycle Gang, and Troop Beverly Hills.

Calra Gugino was born in Sarasota, Florida but relocated to California when she was five. After graduating valedictorian from her high school, a major modeling agency discovered her and soon after she was modeling and taking acting classes. Through the support and guidance of her first acting coach, Gene Bua, Carla knew she had been bit by the acting bug and possessed the drive to pursue it as a career.

Regardless of whether the role calls for comedy or high drama, Gugino is well equipped to deliver a moving performance. Her deliberate choice to accept a wide variety of roles has helped her build an impressive body of work. She continues to search for roles "that move and inspire me as an artist, and allow me to discover parts of myself that I'm not completely in touch with."
