Biography #2Larry Hagman (born September 21, 1931) is an American actor.
Hagman was born in Fort Worth, Texas. His mother was the legendary stage actress, Mary Martin.
Hagman is best known for his roles as Tony Nelson on the popular television sitcom I Dream of Jeannie (1965-1970), and J.R. Ewing on the primetime soap opera Dallas (1978-1991). A few years after Dallas was cancelled, Hagman was diagnosed with chronic liver disease and underwent a life-saving transplant. He admitted he had been a heavy drinker for years and shared this with the public. He also has become an advocate for organ donations and transplants.
