, who is best known for his producing and acting in the Sundance award-winning El Mariachi, recently wrapped the action/comedy Bravo with the team of Mark Roberts, Lorena David
and Eric Sherman. A man who truly throws himself into his craft, Gallardo applied his expertise in his directorial debut, Single Action, a political actioner set for release this year. He also has several projects currently in development including Charlie's Palace, Cruz Control, Double Action, and an unnamed project re-teaming with longtime collaborator Robert Rodriguez
. After the positive reception to Bravo, Gallardo was enthusiastic about co-starring in and co-producing Eastside.
Gallardo has been making movies since he was 13 years old, and has loved every minute of it. The youngest of three children, the Coahuila, Mexico native drew his earliest inspiration from directors John Carpenter (Escape from New York) and George Miller (Road Warrior). His landmark achievement: co-writing, producing and starring in the break-out, cross over hit El Mariachi and co-producing and appearing in Desperado.
