Jason James Richter
Jason James Richter found international acclaim in 1993 when he made his feature film debut as Jesse in Free Willy. Two years later, he reprised the role for Free Willy 2: The Adventure Home.
Born in Medford, Oregon, Jason moved to Honolulu, Hawaii, at the age of three. There he learned to swim and developed a lasting passion for the sea and its inhabitants. He landed his first acting job for a Japanese commercial producer and went on to appear in national U.S. commercials as well.
It was after the family move to the mainland that Jason was chosen from over 4,000 candidates to star as the troubled twelve-year-old who becomes friends with an Orca named Willy. Following the success of the Free Willy movies, Jason went on to star as Chevy Chase's son in Cops and Robbersons and in The Neverending Story III. Jason recently completed the starring role in Laser Hawk, an independent futuristic science- fiction feature.
