Biography #2 (for Sideways)

Thomas Haden Church is perhaps best known for his role as Lowell Mather on the popular, long-running series Wings and as Ned Dorsey in the series Ned and Stacy. Church also starred in the blockbuster hit GEORGE OF THE JUNGLE, opposite Brendan Fraser, and 3,000 MILES TO GRACELAND, with Kurt Russell and Kevin Costner. Church's other feature credits include TOMBSTONE, LONE STAR STATE OF MIND, SCOTCH AND MILK, THE BADGE, MONKEYBONE and THE SPECIALS.

Last year, Church worked on both sides of the camera, acting and making his directorial debut on ROLLING KANSAS, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. He began his entertainment career as a radio deejay and a voice-over announcer with a talent for mimicry. Soon, he landed a role in the independent film STOLEN MOMENTS. Church continues to do voiceovers for commercials as well as the Cartoon Network.

Thomas Haden Church most recently showcased his comedic talents in the independent film The Specials, directed by Craig Mazin. His other recent screen appearances include Mike Figgis's romantic drama One Night Stand and the independent feature Scotch and Milk, written and directed by Adam Goldberg and on which he also served as executive producer. He also starred opposite Brendan Fraser in the hit comedy George of the Jungle and opposite Marlon Brando in Free Money.

Church shot to national attention starring on Fox TV's Ned & Stacey. For his portrayal of Ned Dorsey, Time called Church one of the six reasons to tune in to television. A scene-stealing guest appearance on Cheers brought Church to the attention of producers who were doing a new show called Wings. They created the role of eclectic airport maintenance man Lowell Mather for Church, and he played the character for six seasons before moving on to Ned and Stacey.
