Ian Buchanan

Ian Buchanan (born 16 June 1957) is a Scottish television actor. He was born in Hamilton, Scotland.

He got his big break in America as a character actor in soap operas. He played Duke Lavery on General Hospital from 1986 to 1989. He landed a plum role on the television series Twin Peaks (1990-1991), as well as the role of Peter Lawford in a miniseries chronicling Marilyn Monroe's affair with Robert F. Kennedy. From there, he went back to daytime. He joined the cast of The Bold and the Beautiful as Dr. James Warwick in 1993; he left the show in 1998. After a part in the movie Panic Room (2002), he returned yet again to soaps, playing Joshua Temple on Port Charles (2002-2003).

A rumor surrounding Ian Buchanan is that his soap opera leading man persona is all a ruse: supposedly, he is homosexual in real life. This rumor was started on Internet message boards: the evidence for said rumor is that he is best friends with fellow Bold and the Beautiful actor Susan Flannery, who is rumored to be a lesbian.
