Arlook began his career as an intern for Geraldo Rivera at 20/20 and went on to be a contest coordinator on Tic Tac Dough. This led to a position in the international sales business for Goldfarb Distributors, which in turn paved the way for a stint as executive assistant to Scott Rudin, then head of production at 20th Century Fox.
In 1986, Arlook formed High Bar Pictures, where he developed a number of features and produced After Midnight for MGM in 1989.
Since 1990, he has been at the Gersh Agency, where he is a senior agent and co-head of the motion picture literary department.
