Sara Gilbert is best known for her role as the wisecracking and lovable Darlene Conner in the hit series Roseanne, which brought her two Emmy nominations, numerous other awards, and worldwide recognition during its nine years on ABC.

Gilbert most recently starred opposite Forest Whitaker and Vanessa L. Williams in Fox 2000 and Edmonds Entertainment's Light It Up, directed by Craig Bolotin. She also had a cameo role in Warner Bros. The Big Tease directed by Kevin Allen. In addition, Sara will create, produce and direct Even the Losers for MTV Productions and ABC, about a 15 year old Woody Allen-type who is shipped off to boarding school.

As a graduate of Yale University, Gilbert made her directorial debut with the critically acclaimed short film Persona Non Grata, executive produced by The Shooting Gallery, and selected for competition at the 1998 Sundance Film Festival.

A versatile film, television and stage actor, Gilbert recently starred in the Morgan Freeman-directed feature film Desert Blue, opposite Christina Ricci and Brendan Sexton. Her additional feature film work includes Poison Ivy, opposite Drew Barrymore and the made-for-cable movie Sudie and Simpson, opposite Louis Gossett Jr. She recently starred in the CBS pilot The Next Big Thing from executive producer Brad Hall, in which Gilbert portrays a young writer who joins the staff of a late-night comedy-variety show. Gilbert also appeared in the world premiere of Gray Stewart's play Downwinder Dance.
