Allison Smith

Allison Smith is best known for her six-year starring role as Jenny Lowell on the hit comedy Kate & Allie, which earned her three nominations for Best Actress in a Television Series by the Youth in Film Organization. She went on to make numerous guest-starring appearances including Champs, Touched By an Angel, Homicide, Ned & Stacey and Party of Five. In addition, Smith had a recurring role on Sweet Justice, as well as leading roles in the telefilms The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, Danielle Steele's Full Circle and Where Are My Children? Her feature film credits include How to Make an American Quilt, Going West in America, At First Sight, A Reason to Believe, and the recent Tom Cruise film Jerry Maguire. Smith got her start in show business at age nine when she landed a part in the Broadway production of Evita. Six weeks later, she earned the title role in Annie on Broadway and went on to star in more than 1,000 performances (1,056) from 1980 to 1982. Recently, Smith played the lead in David Mamet's west coast premiere of Oleanna in Los Angeles at the Tiffany Theatre.
