has been starring in films since the 1950s. Her most recent work includes SALSA, DEUX FEMMES À PARIS and Frederick Wiseman's THE LAST LETTER, for which she received the Best Actress Prize in 2000 from the French Critics Union. Samie previously worked with James Ivory
in JEFFERSON IN PARIS. She has been a member of the Comedie-Française since 1956 and is its doyenne, or most senior leading lady.
