Andrew McCarthy

Since making his screen debut at 19 in Class, Andrew McCarthy has shown a willingness to make exciting, unexpected choices. From his roles with such prestigious directors as French new wave auteur Claude Chabrol (Quiet Days in Clichy, Dr. M.) and John Frankheimer (Year of the Gun) to his acclaimed character work in The Joy Luck Club, Mrs. Parker and the Vicious Circle, Mulholland Falls and I'm Losing You - and in such hits as St. Elmo's Fire, Pretty In Pink, Mannequin, Less than Zero and cult favorite Weekend at Bernie's - McCarthy has established a body of work that defies easy typecasting.

His television credits has been equally diverse, from the BBC's award-winning production of The Common Pursuit to Sally Field's directorial debut in ABC's The Christmas Tree. McCarthy won praise for his portrayal of Bobby Kennedy in the CBS miniseries Jack: A Life, as well as for starring in the F/X Network's highest-rated film ever, The Sight, and in the recent Hallmark hit, Straight from the Heart.

A veteran of New York Theatre, for the last five years McCarthy has starred in no less than nine plays, including the Tony award-winning Sideman on Broadway, the Lucille Lortel award-winning play, The Exonerated, and acclaimed productions of Long Days Journey into Night and The Glass Menagerie. He also originated roles by Oscar-winning writers Horton Foote and John Patrick Shanley.

McCarthy, who has just completed two upcoming films, The Orphan King and 2B Perfectly Honest, is a member of the Ensemble Studio and the Actor's Studio.
