Biography #2Mandy Patinkin has made his mark in theater, television, film and music. His Broadway debut performance as Che in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Evita won him a Tony Award. He was nominated for another Tony for his starring performance in Sunday in the Park with George. He also had leading roles in the Tony Award winning The Secret Garden and in Falsettos. Beyond the musical theater, he has played roles in many plays including The Winters Tale, Hamlet, Rebel Woman and The Shadow Box.
In 1995, Patinkin won an Emmy Award for his performance in the television series Chicago Hope. His other television credits include his role as Quasimodo in a TNT presentation of The Hunchback and a film version of Arthur Miller's Broken Glass.
Patinkin's feature film credits are numerous and include The Princess Bride, Yentl, The Music of Chance, Daniel, Ragtime, The Doctor, Alien Nation and Dick Tracy.
In 1989, Patinkin began his concert career at Joseph Papp's Public Theater. At the same time his first solo album Mandy Patinkin was released. Since then he has toured widely, singing to sold-out audiences in the United States, Canada and England.
