Biography #2 (for Running Scared)

Vera Farmiga is a beautiful and talented young actress whose star is on the rise. In a short time she has managed to work with some of Hollywood's biggest players, such as Richard Gere and Robert DeNiro, which surely makes her one to watch.

This year Farmiga will be working on Martin Scorsese's The Departed and Anthony Minghella's Breaking and Entering. She most recently appeared opposite Denzel Washington, Meryl Streep and Jon Voight in The Manchurian Candidate. She starred in Touching Evil, a television series produced by Bruce Willis and Arnold Rifkin (Die Hard IV, Hart's War) and directed by Allen Hughes (Dead Presidents, Menace to Society) for the USA Network.

At last year's Sundance Film Festival, Farmiga won a Special Jury Prize for her performance in the independent film Down to the Bone, a revelatory drama about a weary working-class mother trapped in drug addiction. The film, which was in the Dramatic Competition also garnered a Directing Award for Debra Granik.

Farmiga also appeared in the HBO miniseries Iron Jawed Angels which co-starred Hilary Swank, Anjelica Huston, Frances O'Connor, and Molly Parker.

Farmiga's film credits include The Hard Easy, Neverwas, Love in the Time of Money, Dummy, Fifteen Minutes, as well as Autumn in New York, and The Opportunists.

Farmiga's television and stage credits include the NBC action series UC: Undercover ABC's "Snow White, and an appearance in Under the Blue Sky at the Williamstown Theatre Festival opposite Annabella Sciorra and Marsha Mason.

A New Jersey native, Vera currently resides in upstate New York.

Biography #3

Farmiga is currently starring in NBC's UC: Undercover, where she plays Alex Cross, a member of a highly specialized unit within the Justice Department that goes deep undercover to apprehend powerful criminals.

Most recently, she co-starred opposite Robert De Niro and Edward Burns in the feature film Fifteen Minutes as a young Czech immigrant who witnesses a crime and becomes involved with the investigator (Burns) pursuing the case.

Farmiga also finished several upcoming films and TV movies including the romantic comedy Dummy, with Adrien Brody, and the television movie Snow White, a new interpretation of the classic tale of good vs. evil with Miranda Richardson and Tom Irwin.

Farmiga's other film credits include the romantic drama Autumn in New York (with Richard Gere), The Opportunists (with Christopher Walken), and Return to Paradise. She is also an accomplished stage actress who has appeared in several productions as a member of the Barrow Group, a theater company in New York, where her credits include The Tempest and The Seagull and Good.

A New Jersey native, Farmiga graduated from Syracuse University and currently lives in upstate New York when not filming UC: Undercover in Vancouver.
