Maria Grazia Cucinotta
Maria Grazia Cucinotta menaces James Bond in an early sequence in The World is Not Enough. An Italian actress best known internationally for her performance in Massimo Troisi's movie Il Postino, Cucinotta abandoned an early career as a model to make her television debut on the series Indietro Tutta.
She took acting and elocution lessons and continued to work in television and in commercials before being cast in Il Postino. She next appeared in two Italian feature films, I Laureati and Italiani, followed by the television movie Padre Papa.
Most recently, after another Italian feature, Il Sindaco, Cucinotta was cast in her first American film, Brooklyn State of Mind. Cucinotta also stars in the upcoming comedy Picking Up The Pieces along with Woody Allen, David Schwimmer and Sharon Stone.
